Sorry for the service interruption today. Anything that you posted to the bot should be there -- we just had to deal with a minor web server issue.
Let's all just pretend this never happened, okay? You never saw a thing, right?

Meshly updates on the way!
We wanted to let you know about the improvements we're working on, so that you can have an opportunity to be involved and speak up with any suggestions or questions. We have received a lot of good comments over the last couple weeks and we're putting a priority on those request that have been repeated by more than a couple of you.
Here's the list as we currently see it:
Easy bug fixes. These should be posted within the next day or two
Priority feature additions
Phase 2 site updates - what we're planning on having done to move from alpha to beta
Phase 3 - this is still fuzzy, but a starter list of what we think we need to move past beta
That's it for now. We'll keep you posted on our progress. Also, please comment and suggest more improvements if you have ideas. Or, if you think something on this list is bad idea, please let us know that as well.
Thanks again for your support. Keep on posting, voting and supporting your channels!
Here's the list as we currently see it:
Easy bug fixes. These should be posted within the next day or two
- Open links in a new window
- Fix the global promotion algorithm so that it takes more than a single vote to move a link to the popular page within the global listing
- Allow for links within the post itself (and shorten them so that they don't break the page layout).
Priority feature additions
- Allow for editing and deleting posts by the user. There may be a time period after which a post is locked, to keep bait and switch spam from happening.
- Allow you guys to flag bad links as spam or as inappropriate for the channel.
- Make it easier to make channel votes for a post.
- Address unicode characters within channels and tags
Phase 2 site updates - what we're planning on having done to move from alpha to beta
- Layout refresh. We making some wicked awesome design changes that make the site easier to read and navigate
- Search tool
- Posting on the site in addition to IM. IM's our favorite interface, but why not be able to post if you're on the site already?
- Possibly developing a chat system per channel that allows people to directly communicate with those folks contributing to the channel. This idea came from one of our dedicated posters.
Phase 3 - this is still fuzzy, but a starter list of what we think we need to move past beta
- Developer API
- Import/export tools. We want you to use Meshly, but we don't want to lock you in. Choice is a good thing.
- Blog integration tools. plugins for drupal, wordpress, blogger, myspace, etc.
That's it for now. We'll keep you posted on our progress. Also, please comment and suggest more improvements if you have ideas. Or, if you think something on this list is bad idea, please let us know that as well.
Thanks again for your support. Keep on posting, voting and supporting your channels!
